GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces fired at Palestinian fishermen late Monday, injuring two off the coast of Rafah in southern Gaza, security sources told Ma'an.
Ashraf al-Qidra, Gaza's health ministry spokesman, said the two sustained minor injuries after being hit by rubber-coated steel bullets.
They were transferred to Abu Yousif al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah, al-Qidra said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Israel has controlled Gaza waters since its occupation of the area in 1967, and has kept several warships stationed off the coast since 2008.
