Israeli Army, Navy, Bombards Beit Lahia

The Israeli Navy opened fire at Palestinian fishermen near the Beit Lahia coast, while Israeli tanks fired several shells at area in the north of the city, local sources reported Thursday.

The sources added that Israeli Navy boats fired at fishing boats in Al Sudaniyya and Al Waha areas, west of Beit Lahia causing damage to fishing boats; no injuries were reported.

Furthermore, Israeli tanks fired several shells at farmlands in the northern part of the Gaza Strip; damage was reported, no injuries.

The shelling came shortly after the army dropped leaflets warning of a nearing attack on Gaza. The leaflets did not specify the nature of the upcoming attack.

BEIT LAHIA, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired tank shells at Beit Lahia to the north of the Gaza Strip at dawn Thursday as IOF gunboats opened heavy machineguns at Palestinian fishing boats west of the same area.
Sources in the marine police told PIC reporter that the gunboats shooting damaged a number of fishing boats and tore fishing nets but no casualties were reported.
They said that the tank shelling damaged land and property of citizens but no casualties were suffered.
Meanwhile, IOF soldiers rounded up six Palestinian citizens in various West Bank areas at dawn Thursday.
Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot said that five Palestinians were detained in the districts of Nablus, Ramallah and Al-Khalil during which the soldiers searched several homes.
IOF soldiers arrested a Palestinian shepherd near Mihula settlement in the Jordan Valley at the pretext of approaching the settlement while he was obviously rearing his cattle.
